85% Superwash Extrafine Merino (19.5 micron) 15% Nylon Yarn

The extrafine merino wool makes this yarn luxuriously soft and bouncy for next to skin comfort. A little nylon is added for extra durabilty.

The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is its softness which depends upon the fineness of the fibres. We use extrafine merino (19.5 microns) which is some of the finest commercially available for hand dyers. This results in a supersoft yarn that feels gentle against the skin.

One of our best sellers. This yarn is so versatile and can be used for any next to skin project (scarves, jumpers etc) as well as items where a little more durability is required such as socks and gloves.

Approx. 4000m per 1 kg cone.

Please note that the cones are an intermediate stage in the spinning process and can vary in weight (and length) to be under or over 1kg. The discount on the cones accounts for this discrepancy. They are intended to be spliced or knotted together to form longer lengths from which specific weights of hanks are reeled.
